Catharsis Bowl belongs to the Catharsis Collection and extends its language into a horizontal, containing form. Inspired by the ancient concept of catharsis as transformation through release, the piece explores the moment when fracture and renewal coexist within the same structure.

The piece is composed of two independent elements that rest together without adhesives or permanent fixings:

– one flame-worked borosilicate glass element, shaped at the torch and intentionally fractured in appearance
– one sculpted mineral stone body forming the containing structure

The glass is flame-worked by hand without molds, creating an irregular surface that evokes the visual tension of a broken form.

The stone, gradually sculpted until a precise structural fit with the glass is achieved, draws inspiration from Roman mineral craftsmanship traditions and is developed through proprietary mineral-based processes, without cement or synthetic binders. Surface protection is achieved through layered natural oil treatments, manually applied and allowed to cure slowly over time. No synthetic sealants or industrial coatings are used.

Over time, the oil may continue to be absorbed by the mineral body, allowing the surface tone to become slightly lighter while maintaining structural integrity.

Each piece is individually crafted. Variations in shape, surface, and proportion are an essential part of the work and reflect its fully handcrafted nature.
